IDOL (Intelligent Data Operating Layer) uses its standard connectors to integrate with a wide range of data sources and aggregate data into its databases. IDOL uses Autonomy powerful pattern matching algorithm to extract meaning from unstructured information. It can form conceptual and contextual understanding of all content in an enterprise, analysing information from over 1,000 different data formats. Over 500 operations can be performed on digital content by IDOL, including hyperlinking, agents, summarisation, taxonomy generation, clustering, eduction, profiling, alerting and retrieval. IDOL has built in support for all aspects of security management including user security, document security and secure communication. It integrates with existing underlying security to provide mapped content security so that results from multiple sources get merged into a sensible relevance whilst conforming to the intended security profiles of their original sources. IDOL distributed architecture allows it to scale up to accommodate growth in users and content.
